Practice Focus
Diego is a young lawyer with broad experience in transactions related with different energy law sectors, including oil & gas, electric power generation, wind energy and other projects. Moreover, he has participated in the financing of several energy projects and other kinds of projects. Furthermore, Diego has assisted several clients in bidding procedures, as well as with the filings and processes related with international and national public bids and the implementation of awarded contracts. Additionally, Diego has participated in several real estate and telecom projects and assisted both national and foreign clients, regarding their corporate and regulatory matters as well as in the drafting, negotiating and execution of credit and security documents (such as trust agreements, pledges, etc.)
Representative Legal Matters
• Participated, per the request of Pemex and the Mexican Ministry of Energy, in the drafting and negotiation of the Provisions of the Board of Administration of Pemex for the Contracting of Acquisitions, Leases, Works and Services related to the Substantial Activities of Productive Nature of Pemex and its Subsidiary Organs (Disposiciones Administrativas de Contratación en Materia de Adquisiciones, Arrendamientos, Obras y Servicios de las Actividades Sustantivas de Carácter Productivo de PEMEX y Organismos Subsidiarios) in accordance to the provisions of the Pemex Law and its Ruling.
• Representation of Kinder Morgan Gas Natural de México, S.A. de C.V. in the obtainment of a permit from the Ministry of Communications and Transports and the Federal Telecommunications Commission for the installing and operating of ground transmitting stations related with the sending of signals from its natural gas pipelines.
• Acted as legal counsel to DMGP Servicios de Integridad, S.A. de C.V. in all matters related with the subcontracting of all the services, works and other items necessary for the fulfillment of the contract granted to such company by Pemex in connection to the Dos Bocas Dock and all the ancillary installations. Such contract is the largest contract granted by Pemex to a sole company. The services were performed on-site, in Paraiso, Tabasco.
• Representation of Korean Electric Power Corporation, Samsung C&T and Techint, through its subsidiary KST Electric Power Company, S.A.P.I. de C.V. in the drafting, negotiation and execution of a guaranteed credit agreement, bridge loan agreement and the security agreements related with the obtainment of a financing for more than US$450 million granted by The Export-Import Bank of Korea, Crédit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and Scotiabank Inverlat, for the construction, development and operation of the power generation plant Norte II of 433 MW in the State of Chihuahua.
• Representation of the syndicate of banks formed by Banamex, BBVA Bancomer, Citi, Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, ING Bank, CaixaBank, Mizuho Corporate Bank, and the Miami Branch of Banco Sabadell, regarding the granting of financing of USD300 million for the acquisition of the Altamira Natural Gas Storage and Regasification Terminal.
• Representation, Pro Bono, of Aid for Aids México in the obtainment of the authorization granted by the Ministry of Credit and Public Finance to act as non-profit entity.

Education and Experience
Diego concluded his law degree in the Law School of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Before entering Gonzalez Calvillo he worked in the migration firm Enrique Arellano Abogados, S.C. from 2004 to 2006. As well, fromo 2006 to 2007 he was a legal clerk in the energy, maritime and corporate areas of Goodrich Riquelme y Asociados, S.C. Additionally, he worked as a legal clerk in Ritch Mueller, S.C. from 2007 to 2009.
On July 14, 2011 Diego was authorized to act as official English Expert Translator by the Tribunal Superior de Justicia del Distrito Federal.
