Employment
In May 2010, Jorge joined Gonzalez Calvillo, S.C., in order to support the law firm practice in Privacy and Personal Data Protection, Telecommunications, Information Security and e-business. Jorge has been involved in the implementation of diverse projects in Mexico and Latin America for diverse national and international companies, as well as with multilateral agencies. Jorge has been Consultant to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development -UNCTAD in ICT and e-commerce Law and Policy in Latin-America (2007- ). He had been consultant to the Public Function Ministry by elaborating the legal studies to develop the Federal Digital Signature Act proposal and participated in the working group that drafted the above mentioned proposal (2009). In 2008 Jorge participated as Member of the Mexican Delegation to Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation - APEC - Privacy Subgroup and he provided legal advice to the Internet Mexican Association (AMIPCI) by preparing diverse materials for the World Bank (2008). He had also advised the Consumer Protection Agency in e-commerce projects in the context of the activities of the Free Trade Agreement between Mexico and the European Union (2007). Jorge was partner at Paulino Olavarrieta, S.C. (2004-2007). He was Member of the Committee of Experts of the Trade Commission of the House of Deputies for the reform of the Commercial Code regarding E-Signature (2003) and collaborated with the Federal Telecommunications Commission (1998-2000) as Former Director for Special Projects. He had elaborated diverse proposals for the Mexican Congress in order to amend the Federal Criminal Code in Cybercrime and to address Cybersecurity issues (2003- ). Since 2003 Jorge had advised diverse leading companies of the telecommunications, the ICT and the financial sectors. He co-chaired the High Technologies Legal Advanced Studies Project at the Mexican Technological Autonomous Institute (ITAM) (2003). Jorge chaired the Legal Committee of “Grupo DC México”, a Public-Private Partnership against Cybercrime coordinated by the Public Security Secretariat (2003-2004). He coordinated the Cybercrime Legislative Workshop organized by the Organization of American States (OAS) and the US Department of Justice (DOJ) at the Mexican House of Representatives (2004)
