About

Alfredo has been a partner at the firm since 2002 and is a leading practitioner in the fields of real estate, corporate and project development investment. He provides legal and business advise to multinational and Mexican companies in all types of corporate transactions involving joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances, lease agreements, restructuring contracts, project financing, investments, public bids, and regulatory issues in general.

Alfredo’s work includes active representation of diverse clients from a wide variety of industries in multi-million-dollar transactions and investments in the areas of real estate, energy, electricity generation, and structuring of foreign investment transactions, franchise, compliance, money laundering, data privacy and projects for their consolidation in Mexico. Alfredo has also counselled major energy and oil-related consortiums in public bids.

He also leads the firm’s immigration practice and has experience providing advice to national and foreign companies on Mexican immigration and relocation for expats, their families, and other individuals in relation to their immigration status.

Experience

  • Advised Canamex International to obtain a US$52 million loan from SabCapital and Banorte to fund the remodeling and expansion of a luxury hotel in Cabo San Lucas
  • Advised Regus Management for the design of its new business structure and its development plans, consisting of new business center locations throughout Mexico
  • Advised Reichmann International with different matters regarding the management and operation of diverse buildings in Mexico City, including business and legal counsel in the negotiation, structuring and implementation of the leasing with third parties (tenants)
  • Represented Lowe’s Home Centers and its Mexican subsidiaries in several multi-million-dollar transactions for the acquisition of various retail properties as part of their expansion process into Mexico
  • Represented Mexico Retail Properties in connection with the acquisition and development of various shopping centers in Mexico City, and other cities in Mexico such as Acapulco, Chihuahua, Veracruz, among others, as well as the further negotiation and implementation of leases for the lessees thereof
